Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026 · Governed by South African law (POPIA)

AID — Applied Intelligence Deployments ("AID", "we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect through this website, how we use it, and your rights under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

01Who we are

AID — Applied Intelligence Deployments designs, builds, and deploys custom AI infrastructure for enterprise organisations across Africa. We are based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and act as the "responsible party" for personal information collected via this website.

For any privacy matter, contact us at aid@aiddeploy.com.

02Information we collect

This website is primarily an informational site. We keep data collection to a minimum:

Information you give us directly

  • When you email us (for example, to request a discovery brief), we receive your name, email address, and any information you choose to include — such as your company, role, and a description of your problem.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard server logs — such as IP address, browser type, device, and pages requested — for security, diagnostics, and performance. This is used in aggregate and not to identify you personally.
  • No advertising or tracking cookies. This site does not set marketing or third-party tracking cookies, and does not build advertising profiles of visitors.

03How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide the information or services you request.
  • To assess whether and how we can help your organisation, and to prepare a discovery brief or proposal.
  • To operate, secure, and improve this website.
  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

We process your information on the basis of your consent, our legitimate business interests, and steps taken at your request prior to entering into an agreement — as permitted under POPIA.

04Client operational data

When AID is engaged to build systems, we work with our clients' operational data. That data is governed by the specific engagement agreement and confidentiality/NDA terms in place for that project — not by this website policy. Client data is kept within a governed, access-controlled environment, is never used for advertising, and is never sold. This website policy covers only information collected through the website itself.

05Sharing & service providers

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary:

  • With trusted service providers who help us operate (for example, our email and website-hosting providers), under appropriate confidentiality and data-processing terms.
  • Where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

06International transfers

Some of our service providers (such as email and hosting) may process data on servers located outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected by a comparable level of safeguard, consistent with POPIA.

07Security

We apply reasonable, enterprise-grade technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, and misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to review our safeguards regularly.

08Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, to maintain our business relationship, or to meet legal and regulatory requirements — after which it is deleted or anonymised.

09Your rights under POPIA

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request that we correct or delete your personal information.
  • Object to, or request that we restrict, certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent where our processing relies on it.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa).

To exercise any of these rights, email aid@aiddeploy.com. You may also contact the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

10Changes & contact

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. For any question about this policy or your personal information, contact aid@aiddeploy.com.

This Privacy Policy is provided for general information and reflects how this website operates. It is not legal advice. For a formal compliance review — especially before you add features that collect more data (contact forms, analytics, newsletters) — we recommend having it checked by a qualified attorney.
